abstract
The main goal of the current research is to "evaluate the effects of motivational strategies on the learning of students of armed forces officer universities". The used motivational strategies include two general strategies of internal and external motivation; In this research, these factors were examined by seven areas and in the form of 52 strategies. The current research is of applied type and in terms of research method, it is among descriptive-survey researches. The statistical population of the research includes 1,500 students of the studied officers' university who were studying in the academic year of 1995-1996. The statistical sample includes 226 people who were selected by stratified random sampling. The data collection tools are questionnaires to measure internal and external motivational strategies. This questionnaire was compiled after library studies and using theoretical foundations and research background; which includes seven factors of commanders, professors, students, university vice-chancellors, self-efficacy, attitude and internal attractiveness of activity. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to obtain validity from content validity and reliability. To analyze the questions, descriptive and inferential statistics (one-group Student's t-test and Friedman's test) were used with the benefit of SPSS. The results showed that the amount of strategies used by the university commanders and vice-chancellors is at an unfavorable level and students and professors are at a favorable level but lower than the hypothetical average. Also, internal motivational strategies (self-efficacy, attitude and internal attractiveness of activities) are in a favorable condition and above the hypothetical average. Also, the ranking of the seven factors showed that the internal motivational strategies used by the students are in a better condition than the external motivational strategies.
