The topic of "military service" and its related issues has become one of the subjects of public interest in recent years. Given the importance of the military service period and the fact that most conscripts are young, this study attempts to examine the issue of military service from the perspective of expressing youth demands and, within the scope of the research, provide solutions to address these demands. The research methodology for identifying demands was qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach, and for identifying response strategies, expert interviews were conducted. The statistical population in the content analysis section included all published research during the 2010s (1390–1400 SH) in online databases such as Civilica, Noormags, Elmnet, and the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, with the selection criterion being the presence of at least one of the keywords "soldier," "military service," "conscription," "compulsory public service," or "draft system" in their titles. The statistical population for the interviews consisted of experts and officials in "public conscription" working at the Public Conscription Organization, the Human Resources Deputies of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and the Law Enforcement Command in Tehran, who were selected through snowball and purposive sampling, with the sample size in both statistical populations continuing until theoretical saturation was reached. Youth demands were identified around two axes: "making the current implementation method more desirable" and "eliminating compulsory service," divided into three phases: "before service," "during service," and "after service." Response strategies were also proposed around these two axes.
