From the perspective of international actors, security constitutes a key reality and perhaps the primary raison d’être or ultimate goal of their existence. More than seventy years after the establishment of Israel, this actor has continuously faced diverse strategic and security challenges, while today it continues to confront high-level threats to its very existence. In contemporary scholarly literature, security is not limited to the military dimension but extends across political, social, and economic domains. Israel’s presence in the occupied territories, the structural distrust of regional states, the resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon, the decline in Jewish immigration to the occupied lands, governmental corruption, human rights challenges, and the widespread global public resentment—particularly intensified following the assault on Gaza—represent only part of the security challenges it faces. In this context, and with the aim of identifying the key drivers shaping Israel’s future security, the present study seeks to answer the question: What are the main drivers influencing the future security of Israel? To this end, employing a futures studies approach and utilizing questionnaires, the views of 51 Iranian academic and executive elites were collected, analyzed, and weighted. Through expert panels and software-based analysis, the final set of influential variables was identified. The findings indicate that rocket attacks by resistance groups, the growth of the Arab population, and the decline in immigration to the occupied territories stand out as the most influential drivers shaping the future security of Israel.
